A Love Story
Happy Valentine’s Day! To celebrate our guest of honor, please raise your glass and cheers to Love.
Love is a shapeshifter ever flowing and always changing. It is a word used to describe an indescribable feeling. A word so deep, it drowns those who dive head first submerging them to forget which way is up and to lose all sense of time. A word so meaningful, it can breath life back into the darkest of nights and grimmest of days. A word so powerful, it has shaped the world we live in today.
Love can be seen at anytime and anywhere. It doesn’t matter what language you speak, if you are a religious or a spiritual guru, if you are short or tall, are human or have fur and a tail. Love captures the hearts of all.
The car pulls up to the drop-off curb and she knows it’s time to say goodbye. She isn’t sure when she will see them again, but she carries hope in her heart it will be soon. Both of her parents help her with her luggage. She is trying to hide her glossy eyes as they prepare to say goodbye. She wraps her arms around her mom for a long tight hug cherishing this moment a little longer. Her dad smiles at her and she can feel the tears roll down her cheeks. She gives her dad a hug and looks at them both before she leaves for the terminal. Love pats her on the back and says it will all be alright. They aren’t going anywhere.
“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard?”
-Winnie the Pooh
The sun is bright with charm as the bride walks down the aisle with her first love, her father. She looks ahead to see the handsome man Love sent her those six years ago standing at the alter. He is crying tears of joy and she is beaming with happiness. Her father gives her a hug as he entrusts her new husband to take care of her as he has. Love watches over as promises are made and sacred vows are exchanged. A warm glow radiates from the newly married couple while they walk hand in hand down the aisle celebrating with their dearest friends and family. A champagne toast is made and crazy dance moves are left on the dance floor. Love gave me my greatest gift, my husband.
“You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. And wish from this day forth to never be parted from you.”
- Mr. Darcy, Pride and Prejudice
I am thankful that Love exists and has befriended Hope and Strength. It’s the closest thing we have to magic. We must forever cherish it, seek it out, and appreciate it for all its worth.
I hope you have a good Valentine’s Day, embrace the mushy, and know you are loved. Cheers!
Love,
